May 31 I Got A Tricycle! My parents are so wonderful; they bought me my first tricycle! I think its a present for my 2nd birthday, but they made the mistake of showing it to me so they could see if it fit me, and after seeing how much I liked it, they felt bad about not letting me use it. Hahah…I have them wrapped around my very little pinky. You can see more photos of me on my tricycle (and other cute pictures of me) here. March 04 I'm going to have a little brother! Can you believe it! I'm going to have a little brother! Hard to imagine anyone much littler than I am, but he's pretty darn small. Quote Talking about It's a boy! February 14 Long time no seeI’ve been told by my grand parents that I haven’t updated this blog in a while. I’m sorry Grandma Debi, I’ve just been so busy since Hallowe’en that I haven’t had time to sit down and write.
The only thing better than picking out a tree was Christmas morning! I had a great time opening presents (I’m sure that comes as a big surprise to you. Last year, my mommy, daddy and I had matching pajamas. This year, my mommy bought matching pajamas for all of us! We looked like a bunch of Christmas jailbirds in our stripes. Here are some pictures of me opening presents, and one with me and great grandpa Carl. I think my favorite present was the toy guitar in the second picture. Now I can rock out with my daddy when he plays Rockband! So that was Christmas. Next came the new year! Mommy, daddy and I didn’t do much for new years though, so I don’t really have any pictures to show. A few interesting things did happen in January though. First, Barak Obama became President of the USA. He’s a great speaker. He even had my full attention.
Lastly, remember that toy guitar I loved so much? Well, turns out I don’t want to be a guitarist, but instead, a lead signer! My new album drops in 16 years or so. Keep a look out for it! Trick or Treat! How cute am I? You’d give me candy right? I really like the costume mommy and daddy got me this year for Hallowe’en; it’s very easy for me to walk around in. Much better than the pea-pod from last year. I couldn’t even see my feet in that one! The best trick-or-treating was done at Microsoft. So much less walking per piece of candy. The most fun I had was outside Jason Antonelli’s office. He had a box of candy on a chair, and across the hall there was another chair with candy on it, but it wasn’t in a box. Well, things should be in boxes, right? So, I took each piece of candy from the other chair and put it in the box outside Jason’s office. What fun! October 18 Remlinger FarmsMommy and Daddy took me to Remlinger farms today. I don’t think I was old enough to enjoy it and I think Mommy and Daddy were too old to enjoy it. But I really liked playing on the pumpkins. I also really enjoyed the train, but we didn’t get any good pictures of me on it except for this one. I liked this one so much I wanted to share it here. Look at Me Go!If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you know I recently learnt how to walk. Well, now that I’ve learnt, there’s just no stopping me. My longest walk so far was to the park in my neighborhood. I made it all the way there by myself. When I got there, I really liked playing on the slide. It was fun to walk up to the slide, then slide down backwards. I squealed every time I went down it.
October 12 Look at me! I’m all dressed up!Thought you may want to see me in my new suit! They took me, and a couple people Daddy works with and went for a sail on Puget Sound since the weather was so nice. I thought I would like it, but I didn’t. Mommy and Daddy both tried to cheer me up. They sang me songs and made funny faces. They also gave me all sorts of yummy food in my new snack cup. I hated sailing so much I didn’t even want to eat it! I threw it all over the boat in protest.
Eventually Mommy figured out that I wasn’t having fun and went down below deck and cuddled. That was fun. So maybe I don’t hate all of sailing after all.
Daddy had a really good time though, and so did his friends. Here are a couple pictures of some people who actually like sailing.
August 31 A weekend of videosDaddy had lots of time on his hands this weekend since I was such a great napper. He even had enough time to make a second video. This one is of me having fun at a park in Duncan on August 10.
August 30 I'm Walking!Well here I am walking! I'm not too comfortable with it, but I'm getting better at it every day.
June 15 Happy Birthday to MeYesterday was my very first birthday and my mommy and daddy threw me a great party! Grandma and Grandpa Steinbok came down from Vancouver to celebrate with us, and a few of my friends came too. I think my favorite part of the party was the cake they got me. Yum! Here’s a picture of the cake before I started eating it. As you can see, I was quite involved eating a pickle when they brought out the cake.
My parents gave me a huge piece of cake. Do you think I could finish all of it?
I did! Can you believe it? All of the cake, and some milk! This was also my first cup of milk ever!
There are a few more pictures of the party in the photo album on my Space. For a birthday present, my mommy and daddy got me this nifty ball popper. It confuses me sometimes; balls just seem to suddenly pop out. I really like it when they just float above the hole.
May 31 Victoria Day Weekend
Auntie Shay Shay came down to visit me (and my parents) on Victoria Day weekend. For those of you Americans (like me), this is the weekend before Memorial day weekend. We had great weather and my parents set up a small pool for me to play in. It was almost like being in Barbados again.
Daddy, mommy and Shelagh played with me in the pool. They even brought my favorite bath toys in for me to play with. I think they just wanted to spray me though. I had so much fun in the pool that they even fed me lunch in there. I guess it’s also easier for them to clean up.
In other news, daddy recently put in some gates at the top of the stairs so I don’t accidentally crawl and fall down. That was very nice of him to do.
March 25 Back from Barbados
Well, I just got back from my first vacation that I needed to take a plane to fly to. And what a great first vacation it was! Mommy and daddy always talked about how nice Barbados was, but I never really believed them; but wow, is it ever nice there! I got to spend every day wearing shorts and going swimming...I love swimming! My parents keep calling me a water baby...I'm not sure what that means, because I'm not made of water, but they seem to get a kick out of it. Here are some pictures of me in the water. The first one is in my great uncle Joe's pool, the second is in the sea.
The best part of the trip for me wasn't the weather, but was meeting my great grandmother. Take a look at the picture below of four generations of Steinboks. Great grandma really liked playing with me, especially after I got used to her and didn't cry when she held me.
As I said at the top, I spent a lot of time in the pool, and around the pool. Here's me being looked after by my grandparents. It was really great to get to spend so much time with them.
Well, I'm back in Seattle now...wearing long pants, and not having different people play with me all the time. It's going to be hard to get used to daycare after two weeks of all the attention I was getting. I think I let it go to my head. Oh well, I'm sure I'll forget by tomorrow.
There are some more pictures in the Barbados 2008 photo album on Windows Live, and on my dad's as well. December 19 New Stroller
Christmas came early this year! Check out the sweet ride my parents got me! It's a Phil and Ted's Sport Buggy; imported just for me from New Zealand. My daddy picked it up yesterday and took me out on a test drive as soon as he got home and got it assembled. The only thing was, it was kind of raining and cold and I would have rathered stayed inside. It's a great smooth ride though; only problem I think is that I don't fall asleep as easily as it doesn't vibrate as much as my Peg-Perego stroller does. I'm really looking forward to long walks now that I have my new ride. Hopefully the weather gets better soon! |
